Electrolysis

Electrolysis for hair removal is the only permanent hair removal technique currently known.  A skilled technician inserts a needle into a hair follicle.  The needle has two electrical poles on its end and, on pushing a pedal, and electrical current is passed between the two.  As the to do not touch, the electrical current passes through the walls of the hair follicle, generating heat and destroying the cells in the wall of the hair follicle.  Once destroyed, these cells are unable to ever produce hair again.

The advantages of electrolysis that it can be used on hair of any size or colour and that it is a permanent hair removal. However the drawbacks of electrolysis that it is painful, particularly in sensitive areas such as the face, and as each hair follicle has to be treated individually, it is very slow to treat large areas.
